Dr. Vijendra Kirnake

Dr Vijendra Kirnake is a consultant Gastroenterologist and Hepatologist. He has done his MBBS from GMC Nagpur and his post-graduation from Seth GSMC and KEM Hospital, Mumbai. He then did DNB (Gastroenterology) at Sir Ganga Ram Hospital, New Delhi; from where he gained experience in the field of Transplant hepatology. He is currently working as Honorary Professor (Gastroenterology) at JNMC Hospital, Wardha; as well as Consultant Gastroenterologist & Hepatologist at New Era Hospital, Nagpur. His active interest is in Hepatology, diagnostic and therapeutic ERCPs and Endoscopic Ultrasound (EUS) procedures. He has published many papers in indexed Indian and international journals and is a member of many professional bodies including Indian Society of Gastroenterology (ISG), Indian National Association for Study on Liver Disease (INASL), European Association for Study of Liver (EASL) and American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (ASGE).





Dr. Sahil Bansal

Dr Sahil Bansal is the Chief multi-organ transplant anesthetist at New Era Hospital, Nagpur. After receiving his MD degree in anesthesiology, he initially worked as a professor in cardiac anesthesia at U N Mehta Institute of Cardiology and Research Centre, Ahmedabad. He then went on to gain experience in multi- organ transplant anesthesia and has worked extensively in the field of cardiac and liver transplants. He is actively involved in the preoperative assessment, intraoperative anesthesia and the postoperative critical care management of transplant recipients. He has been an integral part of our transplant team since the start of our liver transplant program in 2018.









Dr. Sushant Gulghane

Dr Sushant Gulghane is the liver transplant anesthetist at New Era Hospital, Nagpur. He completed his MD (Anesthesia) from MUHS, Nashik in 2014 and then worked for 3 years as a critical care intensivist at some of the reputed hospitals in Mumbai and Nagpur. He then joined Medanta- the Medicity, Gurugram for a Fellowship in liver transplant anesthesia and after successful completion of his fellowship; has joined the transplant team under Dr. Rahul Saxena. Since than he has become an integral member of our team, looking after both the anesthesia as well as the intensive care management of our liver transplant recipients. He is an active researcher and a member of many reputed professional bodies including ISA, ISCCM and the Liver transplant anesthesia and critical care society of India (LITRACSI).







Dr. Amol Kokas

Dr Amol Kokas is the Chief Critical care consultant at New Era Hospital, Nagpur. After completing his post-graduation from Sir Ganga Ram Hospital, New Delhi; he went on to pursue Fellowship in Critical care medicine from CMC Vellore. He then specialized and worked extensively in the field of liver critical care. He has been an integral part of the liver transplant team at New Era Hospital, Nagpur since 2018. He has been actively managing sick patients with decompensated liver disease including Acute on chronic liver failure (ACLF) and Fulminant liver failure (ALF), with consistently good results. He is trained in CRRT, for use of Artificial liver systems (MARS) and for using specialized blood filtration systems (Toramyxin, Cytosorb, DPMAS). His other areas of interest include management of complicated poisoning and ARDS patients. Apart from being a good clinician, he is an active researcher and has published extensively. He is a member of various professional societies including Indian Medical Association (IMA) and Indian Society of Critical Care Medicine (ISCCM).
